Employees who have been with the company for a continuous period of 5 years are eligible to take a sabbatical leave of 1 month. This means that if an employee has been working for the company for 5 years without any breaks, they can take a month off from work.
Before taking a sabbatical, employees must obtain clearance from their manager and get approval from the HR department in advance. This ensures that the company is aware of the employee's absence and can make necessary arrangements to cover their workload during their absence.
During the sabbatical leave, employees will continue to receive their full salary. This means that they will be paid as if they were still working, allowing them to take time off without any financial burden.
If recharge leave is not taken during any five year period, you may not request to combine recharge leave weeks over a ten year period. Keep in mind that the purpose of recharge leave is to provide employees with extended time away from work in order to rejuvenate and then return recharged. That is why we do not have a cash-out option in lieu of taking recharge leave. If you do not request recharge leave but terminate employment you will not be paid out the four weeks upon termination.
